DA: Douglas County deputies justified in fatal shooting

DENVER (AP) — Prosecutors thunder three Douglas County sheriff’s deputies had been justified once they fatally shot a man who pulled a gun on them right via a site site visitors pause south of Denver.

The Denver Post reports deputies had been driving on U.S. Twin carriageway Eighty five when 61-300 and sixty five days-aged Paul Askins pulled his truck out of a driveway and prick them off Aug. 31. They pulled Askins over and change into suspicious when he gave a false identification.

Investigators thunder Askins opened the door and brandished a silver pistol when one among the deputies tried to arrest him. The deputies opened fire, and Askins died on the scene.

After the shooting, investigators stumbled on a yelp in Askins’ wallet that said, “Whenever you homicide me call these numbers,” adopted by phone numbers for lots of of his pals.

Askins’ pals and household said he had talked about suicide.
